Years ago, my cousin Lynia dubbed the women in our family The Irish Witches because of our propensity for precognitive dreams (thanks to Great Grandpa John Pierce who immigrated from County Cork as a wee babe). Our Christmas gatherings took a different turn than most, I’d guess, as we regularly compared visions and visitations from the dead.
My family started me on my spiritual search and instilled a deep love for the Emerald Isle. I’ve always dreamed of renting a writer’s cottage in sheep country—walking distance from the local pub, of course. Someday, I’ll get there.
In the meantime, here are a few of my favorite Irish things.
